‘Think of the great duos of history. We're just like them.’
‘You mean like Kylie and Jason? Torvill and Dean? Sonny and Cher?’
‘I think you’ve missed the point, Rachel.’
Rachel and Ben. Ben and Rachel. It was them against the world. Until it all fell apart. It’s been a decade since they last spoke, but when Rachel bumps into Ben one rainy day, the years melt away.
They’d been partners in crime and the best of friends. But life has moved on: Ben is married. Rachel is not. Yet in that split second, Rachel feels the old friendship return. And along with it, the broken heart she’s never been able to mend.
Hilarious, heartbreaking and everything in between, you’ll be hooked from their first ‘hello’.
‘Very very witty and funny. Left me in awe … a total gem’ Marian Keyes
‘The funniest, most romantic book I've read since One Day’ Lisa Jewell

Mhairi was born in Scotland in 1976 and has been explaining how to pronounce her name ever since. (With a ‘V’, not an ‘M’. Yes, that’s us crazy Celts for you).
She is based in Nottingham where she used to be a local journalist and now she’s a freelance writer and sometime-blogger, which we all know is code for messing about on Twitter.
She likes drinking wine, eating food and obtaining clothes; all the impressive hobbies. Her best anecdotes involve dislocating her elbow tripping over a briefcase and a very bad flight to New York. She lives with a man and a cat.

You Had Me at Hello
Well written comedy but you have to persevere with flashbacks and chapters that lurch between present and past...as well as an assortment of well meaning friends. I enjoyed it!

You had me at Hello
What a hoot. I loved the Englishness of this book. The multi cultural friends with the then and now bringing everything together, making this more than a love gone wrong. I enjoyed the characters being formed and morphed. A great light hearted read.

Is this just like the song off Disney since there's a song that says you had me at hello so I'm confused is it like the song, cause' I haven't read the book yet so xD, I'll write another review after this one.

What's with the last few random pages?
Decent book, well done. Laughed my head off at random bits of mischief at the end -unconnected to the main story. More of that thanks!

A breath of fresh air! From poignant to laugh-out-loud funny and downright rude, this is a roller coaster ride of a read. Can't wait for this author's next adventure!

This was an enjoyable, light, witty, funny read that entertained me on holiday. Great little story with some twists and turns. Recommend :)

I originally picked this book, because of the cover.... I'm a marketer's dream, slap some large fonts in colour and I'm theirs!!! That said, I really enjoyed this book. It was engaging with likeable relatable self deprecating characters set in a somewhat realistic (and often frightening) world of dating as a 30 something and trying to live up to that scary job of 'being an adult'. Loved it - can't wait for the next book!

you had me at hello
Witty writing style with all those lines you wish you had at the tip of your tongue at the appropriate moment. OK so it is a predictable RomCom! but that's what we want, good laughs, a balance of emotion and conflict, and good plot twists to add colour.

Great story rushed ending
Was a really enjoyable read, great characters and engrossing story. However, the ending was rushed and all came to an end in a few pages, not matching the tone of the rest of the book.

Adorable!
Relatable characters, charming wit and a happy ending that ambles up predictably but satisfyingly.

I found this book to be very highly enjoyable, with lovely characters, well written & similar to the book One Day.

Yes, I may devour books faster than I drink my wine (and that is saying something), but this book had me seriously laughing out loud. Please write another book- this author is a star!

This was an enjoyable, light, witty, funny read that entertained me on holiday. Great little story with some twists and turns. Recommend :)

Loved it
I originally picked this book, because of the cover....

About the author

Well written comedy but you have to persevere with flashbacks and chapters that lurch between present and past...as well as an assortment of well meaning friends. I enjoyed it!

What a hoot. I loved the Englishness of this book. The multi cultural friends with the then and now bringing everything together, making this more than a love gone wrong. I enjoyed the characters being formed and morphed. A great light hearted read.

About the author

Loved it
I originally picked this book, because of the cover....

LOL
This book lived up to its reviews. Extremely well written, entertaining and I couldn't put it down until I read to the end to find out what happened to all the characters. Did remind me a little of Bridget jones diary
